About this role
They principal areas of focus in this role are Hydraulic Design (conecpt and detailed) and Technical/Project Management. As part of the senior MEP team, you will provide input into the overall running of projects (particularly in the Hydraulic Engineering Services area) to ensure successful project delivery, and the ongoing development of the Team’s effective project management and technical capability. You will also contribute to the strategic development of the MEP business, including (but not limited to) the positioning of the business within the local marketplace, business plan development and evaluation, and the ongoing development of associated skills and procedures within the unit.


What will I do?

  • Provide detailed design work across a broad range of projects within hydraulic engineering and related areas
  • Provide technical / design input on such projects, ensuring work quality is maintained at the expected standard
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of detailed tender submissions and presentations.
  • Prepare project reports for clients summarising key issues and strategically advising on best outcomes.
  • Provide input into the on-going skill development through activities such as the mentoring of less-experienced staff members; researching/developing novel technical/design applications and/or procedures etc.


What will I bring?

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or similar area.
  • 6 to 10 years of relevant Hydraulic design experience with an engineering consultancy. 
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments.
  • Proficient with engineering software packages, AutoCAD and 3D/BIM modelling software such as Revit & Rhino (for Designer). 
  • Ability to design and deliver solutions on projects and on site.
