Senior Facades Engineer

Our Los Angeles office is seeking a Senior Facade Engineer who will collaborate with architects and other building professionals to design and deliver exciting, world class buildings.
Responsibilities:
• Participate and actively contribute to design workshops, where cladding solutions are explored and determined. Workshops will be with architects and fellow professionals and with the cladding industry.
• Sketch details to develop ideas and to explain concepts and produce drawings, specifications, and reports, and coordinating the work of others.
• Comment on cladding industry submittals and RFIs.
• Witness testing and prepare associated technical reports. Carry out factory visits, site inspections, and preparing associated technical reports.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of other team members and coordinating work with building professionals of other disciplines. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team.
• Communicate with clients to establish their needs and maintain a dialogue throughout the project.
• Manage project teams to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in the built environment
• Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering or building technology, master’s degree preferred.
• In-depth technical and design skills related to building envelope design and detailing. US (West Coast) cladding industry experience preferred.
• Experience with a variety of systems and materials and experience with 3-D computer modeling and analysis packages.
• Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal).
• Ability to understand the balance of priorities on differing projects and develop and maintain client relationships.
• Demonstrated planning and organization skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Los Angeles is $105,000 to $120,000 per year. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Los Angeles will differ.
