Senior Commissioning Engineer

Arup’s West geography is hiring consultants to its energy & decarbonization team to support a wide range of projects in the built environment. We seek creative self-initiating problem-solvers, able to work as part of a team and independently, applying a wide range of communications and analytical skills to design and consulting projects.
Responsibilities of this role will include, but not be limited to, the following:
• Contributing to and managing one or more projects pertaining to: new building commissioning, existing building retro-commissioning, assessment of building systems, building energy benchmarking; development of building improvement strategies (portfolio or individual); and integrated systems performance.
• Developing analyses
• Performing field assessments and commissioning activities
• Contributing to the design or improvement of building systems
• Identifying and analyzing alternatives
• Preparing summaries of work for clients, attending client meetings and assist with or leading proposals
Required Experience:
• Commissioning (Cx, RCx, MBCx) of building systems and at least three of the following areas:
• Building or portfolio energy & resource use analysis, including the use of specialized benchmarking or building energy simulation software;
• Building design and engineering, including identification, analysis and selection of appropriate integrated systems;
• Operational decarbonization of projects in the built environment using at least one of the following frameworks;
• Cost & benefit analysis over a project life cycle;
• Experience with project budgeting and cost tracking;
• Understanding of energy procurement and energy forecasting
Qualifications
• A degree in engineering & architectural sciences, applied sciences, business, economics, or environmental science
• A minimum of 10yrs of experience in relevant work areas is desired

Hiring Range: The good faith base salary hiring range for this job performed in California is $115,000 and $158,000. Benefits are not included in the base salary range. Summary of benefits are included in this posting with details provided to applicants at the time of interview. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of California will differ.
