You will have the opportunity to do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.
We are in search of a tri-state connected, client-facing (mechanical or electrical) engineer to take over leadership of our East Geography Healthcare Business from our New York City or Newark office. We look for you to help further tailor our offerings to the healthcare market and continue to grow and expand it to the tri-state marketplace.
THE OPPORTUNITY
- Leadership position over our East Geography Healthcare Business which includes offices in NYC, Newark, Boston, Washington DC, and Chicago.
- The initial ask will be to focus on further growing our healthcare MEP offering to clients in the tri-state area and connect it to our Boston practice. Subsequently we look for you to coalesce it with our broader multidisciplinary offering, and then expand it into the mid-Atlantic region.
- This is a seller-doer role meaning you will be expected to strategically build the business including winning and delivering work.
- You will be responsible for the development and implementation of a corresponding strategic business plan for our East Region’s Healthcare business in cooperation with our Americas Region Healthcare Leader which includes setting annual revenue targets and being answerable to them.
- You will act as a project director to lead project teams to technical and commercial success.
- You will be expected to supervise select individuals, but not all the corresponding technical staff. Instead, you will coordinate closely with the respective discipline leaders to ensure staff exist and/or developed to support the healthcare business.
- You will focus a portion of your time on regular business development activities engaging with our current clients and helping to establish new healthcare client relationships for the firm.
THE SKILLS
- 20 or more years of experience working as a mechanical or electrical engineer for the built environment
- Extensive acute-care (inpatient) US healthcare experience
- Strong NY/NJ/CT healthcare market connection is the most important attribute
