The Environmental Consultant position will be with the Environmental, Social, and Governance | Sustainable Investment Advisory team in Bogotá, Colombia, providing environmentally sensitive and sustainable solutions to unique engineering challenges. The position will work to continue developing and growing the business in Colombia and the Americas South Geography, and work in close collaboration with the Advisory team in San Francisco, Houston, New York and the Americas Region.
The ESG|SIA advisory team is a center of excellence at Arup, supporting the acceleration of sustainable, resilient, and inclusive investments, securing access to sustainable infrastructure. This position will be part of Arup’s global multi-disciplinary Advisory team characterized by deep sustainability expertise. We apply international sustainability frameworks to address our client’s burning questions and develop inventive, creative, and practical solutions that finally will allow society to thrive and deliver more sustainable infrastructure.
As an Environmental Consultant, you will support our mission to help shape a better world and to support our clients’ sustainable investments. You will work Independently evaluate, select, and apply domestic and international ESG standards related to pollution prevention, circular economy, decarbonization and climate change mitigation, sustainable finance and investments, among others.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, biology, ecology or environmental science-related profession required.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in infrastructure projects (roads, energy, rail, ports, etc.)
- Must possess excellent written, verbal, presentation and communication skills with colleagues and clients of all levels in English and Spanish.
Responsibilities (appears in job posting as Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Independently evaluate, select and apply domestic and international E&S (environmental and social) standards related to IFC PS and EPIV with emphasis on IFC PS N°1-3-6.- E&S risks and impacts, pollution prevention and biodiversity.
- Independently evaluate, select and apply domestic and international H&S standards.
- Assist and produce reports for E&S Due Diligence and Monitoring processes in Colombia and Latin America.
- Coordinate and consult with local regulatory agencies on scope and impact of projects when necessary.
- Attend meetings with clients to address their needs and discuss environmental issues.
- Support the E&S Advisory team in Colombian and Americas.
