Civil Engineer, Roadways

Our Arup Toronto office is seeking a Civil Designer or Engineer with civil, roadways, and utilities experience to join the civil & water team.
Responsibilities:
- Design of key elements of large infrastructure projects including roadways and utilities components
- Coordinate with multiple teams, to bring a multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach to design on our projects
- Assist senior engineers and project managers on day to day running of projects such as LRT, subway, airports and other transportation and water projects across Canada
- Attend, contribute to project meetings (internal and external)
- Engaging and working with clients and municipal and utility authorities to obtain approvals for design work
- Writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings
- Present technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences
- Visit project sites to perform inspections during design and construction
- Work under nominal supervision for all but demanding work
- Take responsibility for definable parts of a project
Qualifications:
- Bachelors/Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar industry and environment
- PEng., licensed in Ontario, or plan to pursue PEng license in Ontario
- Experience with 3D modelling using design software such as Autodesk (AutoCAD, Civil 3D; working on Autodesk Construction Cloud and Navisworks desirable), Bentley (MicroStation, InRoads / OpenRoads Designer; data-based modelling of utilities desirable), and working on ProjectWise desirable
- Independently identify actions needed and take initiative to close out open issues
- Capability to perform under pressure, prioritize effectively, manage timelines and exceptional organization skills required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills crucial for team-based working

Hiring Range: The good faith base salary hiring range for this job performed in Toronto is $80,000 - 90,000. Benefits are not included in the base salary range. Summary of benefits are included in this posting with details provided to applicants at the time of interview. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
