Associate - Structural Engineer

As an Associate, you will be Project Manager leading a team of engineers and technicians responsible for delivering projects. If you are a Singapore registered Professional Engineer, you will be assigned to be Qualified Person for the projects.
The principle activities of the role will be:
- Managing the projects internally and be responsible to Project Director and Geography Leader on successful commercial outcome of the projects
- Preparing and overseeing the implementation of project plans.
- Leading a team of engineers and technicians in the successful delivery of projects.
- Reviewing engineering design and endorse Structural Plan submissions as a Qualified Person.
- Maintaining good client relationship.
The Opportunity
- Lead the technical / design input on such projects, ensuring work quality is maintained at the expected standard and provide detailed design work within building structures engineering and related areas
- Where appropriate, to liaise with the Business Units within the geography and more broadly across the region, providing expertise on building structures engineering as appropriate.
- Extend relationships with clients to enable an expansion of business opportunities for the Building Structures Business Unit, and (where appropriate) other Business Units within the geography.
- Prepare project reports for client summarizing key issues and strategically advising on best outcomes and assist in the ongoing development and maintenance of quality systems within the Singapore office.
- Participate in broader Office, Geography, Regional and/or Arup Group wide activities as assigned or appropriate.

Is this role right for you?
- Advanced Degree or Master’s in civil engineering or equivalent with at least 10 years of relevant experience in Structural Engineering in Building projects withing a consulting environment.
- Proven track record of a diverse range of projects such as in low- and high-rise building, PPVC, Pre-stressed and Timber structures and able to quickly develop successful client relationships.
- Able to demonstrate strong design ability and engineering skills and knowledge
- Experience in managing key projects, including the supervision of multi-disciplinary project teams where appropriate and effective technical supervision and development of less-experience team members.
- Singapore Registered Professional Engineer in PEB or professional qualifications with equivalent professional institutions with excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.
